DATUM Product Development was founded in 2000 as a company offering design consultancy services to the automotive industry. Our speciality is to offer innovative design solutions to problems that require engineering expertise with flair, speed and to strict cost and time targets.
At the heart of our business is the Computer Aided Design. We develop designs to meet our customer specific requirements, taking into full consideration the complete range of factors that inevitably forms part of any commission.
Our target is to design components that are lighter, stronger, more compact and more cost-effective than their predecessors. We achieve this through intelligent design, design analysis, detailed material analysis and a thorough understanding of the design functional and durability requirements.
We can offer more than design; we are skilled at project management, product benchmarking, technical support and new product introductions. This is fully demonstrated through our product development system, the DPDS.
As we grow, we continuously are looking for new areas and markets which could benefit from innovative product design and engineering development. This has lead to us developing exciting new products in such markets as Extreme Sports and Medical Technology.
